Early College First Generation Scholarship
- The Early College First Generation Scholarship Fund was developed in 2010 by Kathi Whitfield, one of the founding educators at Craven Early College High School, in honor of her husband, Roscoe Whitfield, and her father, Lewis Frazier. As a family of educators and life-long learners, the Frazier and Whitfield families are committed to helping as many students as possible to pursue a college education.
- Along with the Whitfields, the teachers and staff at Craven Early College have also become active participants in funding the First Generation Scholarship, organizing and hosting an annual First Generation Scholarship Auction.
- Scholarships are awarded in various amounts to students who are the first in their families to attend a four-year university. The availability of funds and number of applicants in a given school year will determine how many scholarships are awarded.
